My ongoing book list and one line book reviews:
This wonderful book of adventure, friendship, sacrifice, and cultural understanding raises some big questions about what we view as success, what makes a family, and the acceptable amount of meddling in foreign affairs, and reminds us that the morally right thing to do isn't always as clear cut as it seems.
Really science-heavy with lots of things way over my head, but it was amazing, nonetheless, completely impressive, inspiring, educational, funny, and witty.
This fascinating time travel tale, which focuses on life and survival in 18th century Scotland, really challenged my thinking on commitment, loyalty, and what it really means to be happy, but was a little too lengthy for me with much of the content centering on rape, abuse, and brutality.
I loved the way this fun quirky mystery novel was written mostly in emails.
Recommended by my mom, this was a book of friendships and healing and held some unexpected twists.
While I felt connected to the main character from the beginning and could relate to her struggles with anxiety, the way the book was written (in a series of flashbacks while looking through a scrapbook) made it a little difficult for me to get into, although I did find the concept interesting and creative.
